Apharsites (Hastings' Dictionary)
One of the nations transported to Samaria by the AssjTians. Other- wise unknown. By many {e.g. Ewald, H.I. iv. 216) supposed to be Persians ; dts with the prosthetic k in the Heb. form. Others have con- iecturally identified them with the Parrliasians of J. Media. J. Macpherson.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia on Apharsites
Apharsites a-far'-sits ('apharcaye'): A tribe transferred to Samaria by Asnappar of Assyria (Ezr 4:9). Rawlinson identifies them with the APHARSACHITES (which see), taking Apharsites to be an accidental repetition of the same word. He understands "the Persians" to be meant in both cases.
