Noe (Hastings' Dictionary)

Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible (1898–1904)· Public Domain

See Noa. NOEBA (Νοεβά), 1 Es 5%!= Nekoda Ezr 2, Nekodan 1 Es δ, ξ NOGAH (25 ‘splendour ᾽ἢ)., -Οπο of David’s sons, born at Jerusalem, 1 Ch 37(B Ndya, A Ndye) 14° (BA Νάγεθ, καὶ Nayer). The name is wanting in the parallel list in 2S 5, and is viewed with sus- picion by Wellhausen (Bicher Sam. p. 165) and ittel (on 1 Ch 37in SBOT). The preceding name, Eliphelet, is certainly due to a scribal error, and Nogah may be a corruption from the followin Nepheg.

It is apparently the same name, althou with a different application, that appears in the genealogy of Lk 855 as Naggai (Ναγγαί).
