This is the most detailed of the three predictions, with all three Synoptics adding specific elements: handing over to Gentiles, mocking, spitting, flogging. Mark includes spitting and flogging; Matthew adds "crucified" explicitly. Luke notes the disciples understood none of this, with the meaning "hidden from them."
