Tim Keller sermons from Redeemer Presbyterian Church NYC
About Gospel in Life
Gospel in Life (@gospelinlife) is the official YouTube channel of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, distributing sermons and talks by the late Timothy J. Keller (1950-2023). Keller was founding pastor of Redeemer and one of the most influential evangelical preachers of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a doctorate from Westminster Theological Seminary, Keller is known for his intellectually rigorous, culturally engaged approach to Reformed evangelical theology.
His preaching drew heavily on Dutch Reformed and Westminster Confession theology while engaging seriously with secular culture, postmodern philosophy, literature, and urban life. He was a prolific author whose books include The Reason for God, The Prodigal God, Prayer, and Making Sense of God. The channel's verse coverage reflects his breadth: Genesis, Romans, 1 John, and Luke feature prominently, consistent with his interest in creation theology, justification, love, and the shape of the gospel. Topics include the theology of culture, suffering and meaning, Christian mission in cities, and environmental stewardship.
Theological Position and Legacy
Keller held to Reformed soteriology (election, grace, covenant theology) within a Presbyterian framework, but his preaching emphasized the gospel as good news for the skeptical and the hurting rather than polemic against other traditions. He founded Redeemer City to City, a church-planting network with global reach. Gospel in Life preserves a curated archive of his public teaching and is an important resource for students of evangelical homiletics, urban ministry, and apologetics-oriented preaching.
