All three Synoptics record this exchange, but Luke omits Peter's rebuke and Jesus's "Get behind me, Satan" reply entirely, a significant omission that may reflect Luke's tendency to spare the apostles from the harshest criticism. Matthew and Mark both include the full rebuke.
Full exchange including Peter's rebuke and "Get behind me, Satan." Adds the cost-of-discipleship saying.
Records that Jesus "began to teach them" about his suffering openly, and rebuked Peter "in front of the disciples."
Omits Peter's rebuke and the Satan saying; focuses on the daily cross-bearing call.
