Only Matthew specifies thirty pieces of silver, echoing Zechariah 11:12 (the price of a slave). Mark and Luke say the priests promised money but do not name the amount. Luke alone attributes Judas's betrayal to Satan entering him, providing a supernatural explanation alongside the financial motive.
