The Transfiguration
On a high mountain, Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John. His face shines and his clothes become dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appear, and a voice from a cloud declares Jesus the beloved Son.

Luke alone reveals what Moses and Elijah discussed with Jesus: his "departure" (Greek: exodus) which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem. Luke also notes the disciples were "heavy with sleep," and that they saw Jesus's glory only when they woke up. The timing differs: Matthew and Mark say "after six days," Luke says "about eight days."
Jesus's face shone like the sun; the disciples fall on their faces.
His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone could bleach them.
Notes Jesus went up to pray and that Moses and Elijah spoke of his departure (exodus) at Jerusalem.
