The method of healing differs: Matthew says Jesus touched her hand, Mark says he took her by the hand and lifted her, and Luke says he stood over her and rebuked the fever. Luke's language of "rebuking" the fever parallels exorcism vocabulary, possibly reflecting his medical interest.
Briefest account; Jesus touches her hand and the fever leaves.
Peter's eyewitness detail: Andrew, James, and John are named as present.
Uses medical language, "rebuking" the fever as if it were a hostile force.
The bulk of Jesus's public work centered in Galilee: calling of the Twelve, the Sermon on the Mount, parables, miracles, and growing opposition.
